GUEST'S IMPRESSIONS

Upon arrival in Gyeongju, I was very fortunate that the youth hostel was not open. I thus ended up in the Han Jin Hostel under the care of Mr. Kwon. He recognized that the Korean boy I was travelling with (and had met in Pusan three hours earlier) was a thief. In his kindness, he allowed the Korean boy to stay, but we were put in separate rooms (again, thanks to Mr.Kwon, I was about to room with this boy). Several days later the Korean boy left without paying Mr. Kwon. I was lucky! I believe Mr. Kwon was generous shall we say.
had read about Mr. Kwon and his family in the Lonely Planet travel guide series.
My first thought was that this was great press for Mr.Kwon and that he was too good to be true. Those people who stay one or two nights probably think the same thing.
Having stayed here just under 3 weeks, I can tell you that Mr. Kwon has been under-rated in the Planet guide.
He is a man of honor, integrity, wisdom and wholeness. He has found a balance in his life that is rarely seen in most humans. He has listened to his heart and soul which eventually brought him to this place. He's a model of health and happiness. The love that he shares with all his guests is overwhelming.

If anyone has a chance to read this upon arrival, do yourself a favor and stay here for at least a week to experience the love and wisdom he and his family have to offer. If Mr. Kwon were a teacher of his many practices, I'd quickly join his school.

Mr. Kwon, Mrs. Kwon and family:
Thank-you so much for opening your home and lives to me. It will be my fondest memory of Korea to have shared time with you. I hope our paths will soon cross again!
My love to all of you.
